Telkomsel Encourages the Adoption of Mobile Banking Services

Jakarta, 13rd December 2017 – In an effort to intensify the use of mobile banking services, especially SMS-based services, Telkomsel holds Telkomsel's SMS Banking Gift Party program. The program aimed at the users of SMS banking services provides a variety of attractive prizes, including tour packages to Thailand for 13 winners. The program that takes place from December 1, 2017 to February 28, 2018 is valid for all Telkomsel customers throughout Indonesia.

We are constantly striving to encourage ease of banking transactions through mobile phones as mobile lifestyles increasingly become a part of Indonesian society.”

Furthermore, Harris added that Telkomsel's SMS Banking Reward Program is the company’s step in educating the public to conduct banking transactions via mobile phones. "Basically we provide a convenience of transacting for all customer segments, including customers who are still accustomed to using SMS. This program is expected to encourage more and more Indonesians who believe to use mobile banking services," explained Harris.

The number of banking transactions via SMS in Telkomsel's network has increased by 18% for the past one year. Some of the most frequent SMS banking transactions by Telkomsel subscribers are balance info, fund transfer, and account mutation notification. Currently, the number of Telkomsel subscribers who have registered SMS banking services reaches 17.5 million throughout Indonesia.

"SMS is still a trusted platform for customers to conduct banking transactions, as these services are considered to be the most secure and reliable whenever and wherever, even in areas with the most minimal communications signals," Harris said.

In providing SMS banking services, Telkomsel has partnered with more than 60 bank partners or nearly half of banks operating in Indonesia, making this service an effective solution to facilitate customers who are increasingly adopting a mobile lifestyle.

The mechanism to participate in Telkomsel's SMS Banking Gift Party is very easy. Customers of kartuHalo, simPATI, KARTU As, and LOOP who have activated their services at their bank offices only need to make SMS Banking transaction by sending SMS or via access menu *141#. Subsequently, the subscriber will receive a notification SMS from Telkomsel, where for every time the banking transaction, the customer will receive one lottery number. Users of the mobile banking services drawing are those who make at least 20 transactions at any time period (a month) or have at least 20 draw numbers.

The lottery winner gets a grand prize in the form of a tour package to Thailand for 13 winners, including return ticket from Jakarta to city tourist destination vice versa, hotel accommodation, and tour package at destination location.
