To avoid any confusion,
Phishing means an attempt to obtain the data of a party using techniques to deceive that party into disclosing sensitive information. The data targeted by Phishing are personal data (Name, Age, and Address), account data (Username and Password), and financial data (such as credit card and account information). Perpetrators of Phishing typically carry out their actions by impersonating a trusted entity through emails, messages, or websites that appear legitimate. The goal is to deceive a party and make them willingly disclose their confidential information.
Malware refers to malicious software. Malware refers to any software or code designed to harm, disrupt, or gain unauthorized access to computer systems or networks. Malware can take the form of Viruses, Worms, Spyware, Adware, or Trojans. When installed on a device, Malware can cause damage, data theft, or provide unauthorized access to attackers (hackers).
Ransomware is a type of virus that is one of the Malware categories. It attacks a party's device by encrypting their files or data, making them unreadable by the device. The perpetrator then demands a ransom payment, usually in cryptocurrency, in exchange for providing a decryption key to restore access to the files. Ransomware attacks can have serious consequences for a party, such as data loss, financial losses, and operational disruptions.
Trojan is one of the types of Malware, which is a malicious software that can disguise itself as a link, file, software, or email. Trojans can deceive a party into installing or running them, often by bundling themselves with legitimate software or by masquerading as harmless file attachments. Once inside the system, Trojans can perform various malicious activities, such as stealing sensitive information, modifying or deleting files, or providing unauthorized access to attackers.
Worm is one of the types of Malware with different goals than Viruses. Worms do not infect data or programs but copy themselves to infiltrate other devices through networks, which can burden computer operating systems or network bandwidth.
Spyware is created to spy on a device without the user's knowledge. Its purpose is to collect important information and gather confidential data while a party accesses the internet. Examples include online banking PINs, credit card PINs, email passwords, or passwords from other personal accounts.
Domain is a unique address used to identify websites. This domain name is used to link an IP address (Internet Protocol) with a name that is easy to remember.
