    What are the purposes and benefits of registering a Telkomsel number?

    Telkomsel number registration is the mandatory registration of personal identity, which must match the population data recorded by the Directorate General of Population and Civil Registration under the Indonesian Ministry of Home Affairs (Ditjen Dukcapil Kemendagri RI). This applies fully to new customers, as well as existing customers who wish to update their data voluntarily.

    What biometric and document requirements are needed to register a Telkomsel number?

    • Self-registration using a National ID number and a Family Registration Card number is permitted before July 1, 2026. 
    • After this date, facial verification (biometrics) and a National ID number are mandatory. Customers can complete their biometric registration through the official website at tsel.id/registrasi, or by visiting the nearest GraPARI outlet. 
    • Customers without an electronic ID card (e-KTP) can register using the National ID Number printed on their Family Registration Card. 
    • Children Under 17 years old must use National ID Number along with the facial verification of the head of the family registered on the Family Registration Card. 

    How to register a Telkomsel number for foreign nationals?

    Foreign Nationals (WNA) are required to register by visiting a GraPARI or designated outlets that provide foreigner registration services. You must bring your original passport, KITAS, or KITAP for verification by the staff. 

    How long does the validation process take, and what are the consequences of not registering a Telkomsel number?

    The registration validation process will be concluded within 3 minutes. Failure to comply with the registration requirement will result in the inability to activate the Telkomsel number, thereby restricting the customer from accessing incoming and outgoing calls, SMS, and internet services. 

    What steps should be taken if problems occur during the Telkomsel number registration process?

    1. If you experience technical difficulties or system failures during registration, please: 
      • Visit the nearest GraPARI or outlet.

    What are the registration requirements for corporate and personal numbers, and is there a limit on the number of SIM cards that can be registered?

    1. Personal Number Requirements:  
      • Each National ID number can only be used to register a maximum of 3 prepaid numbers per mobile operator. 
      • For postpaid numbers, registration requirements follow the applicable policies of the respective operator.  
    2. Corporate Number Requirements:  
      • Employee’s mobile number must be registered under personal names in accordance with applicable regulations. 
      • M2M/IoT services are registered under the official identity of the company's authorized Person in Charge (PIC).
