Industrial Technology Pioneer Award reaffirms Telkomsel’s commitment to providing reliable networks that accelerate digital transformation across manufacturing, mining, and transportation & logistics sectors
Jakarta, 1 October 2025 — Telkomsel has won the 2025 Industrial Technology Pioneer Award from the Ministry of Industry of the Republic of Indonesia in the Industrial Services Technology category, for its innovation 5G in The Box. The award was announced at an official event hosted by the Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) at the Jakarta International Convention Center (17/9), in conjunction with the Indonesia 4.0 Conference and Expo 2025. It recognized more than 60 industry players for delivering pioneering technologies with tangible impacts on the advancement of the national industry.
Through its business unit, Telkomsel Enterprise, the company continues to deliver a wide range of digital solutions that address sector-specific business needs. Telkomsel’s reliable networks can now be utilized more optimally by industries such as manufacturing, as well as mining, logistics, and industrial zones, which require private, fast, and secure connectivity to support strategic operations and business efficiency.

To meet these needs, Telkomsel introduced the 5G in The Box innovation, a 4G/5G cellular network device that is private, portable, independent, and secure, and can be implemented quickly and flexibly in multiple locations. This technology is designed to overcome the limitations of infrastructure required by industry players to build wide-reaching, reliable, and secure networks. It integrates portability, edge computing, and prioritized network services with features such as Enhanced Mobile Broadband, Ultra-Reliable Low Latency Communications, and Massive Machine-Type Communications.

Telkomsel Sales Director, Stanislaus Susatyo, stated, “This award is a testament that relevant and impactful technological innovations can accelerate Indonesia’s industrial digital transformation. 5G in The Box demonstrates Telkomsel’s commitment to this mission, especially in the manufacturing, mining, and transportation & logistics sectors, in alignment with the key pillars of Making Indonesia 4.0 and the Golden Indonesia Vision 2045.”
With its high mobility, 5G in The Box is ideally suited for deployment in factories, warehouses, mining areas, remote regions, disaster-prone zones, and large-scale events requiring temporary private networks. The solution has been proven to increase operational efficiency in the logistics sector by up to 25% by reducing delivery processing times, cutting waste and operational costs while improving material utilization by up to 80%, and supporting green industry principles. It also contributes positively to the environment through a 40% reduction in paper consumption.
“Through the 5G in The Box innovation, Telkomsel strengthens its role as a strategic partner for industry players by delivering connectivity that is reliable, secure, and flexible. This solution addresses the evolving needs of businesses while ensuring operational sustainability that delivers real impact across strategic sectors such as manufacturing, mining, transportation, and logistics,” added Susatyo.
As Indonesia’s leading digital telecommunications provider, Telkomsel continues to strengthen its position by delivering reliable, fast, and secure networks, including 5G technology, which now reaches dozens of cities across the country. With more than 3,000 active 5G BTS and millions of subscribers already enjoying the service, Telkomsel remains committed to supporting inclusive and sustainable national digital transformation.
