- Telkomsel has become one of the world’s founding members of Autonomous Networks, together with 12 leading global Communication Service Providers (CSPs) and 18 global technology partners. This milestone was marked by the launch of the Autonomous Networks Manifesto on September 18, 2023, in Copenhagen, Denmark.
- Autonomous Networks is a new technology and a major trend in the communications industry, enabling reliable, high speed, and stable network services through AI based self centers that can independently configure, repair, and optimize networks. Telkomsel is the only telecommunications company from Indonesia, alongside AIS Thailand, to become a pioneer representing Southeast Asia in the adoption of Autonomous Networks.
- This achievement further strengthens Telkomsel’s consistent commitment to innovation through the adoption of the latest technologies to support cross industry digital transformation.
Jakarta, October 18, 2023 – Telkomsel was officially recognized as one of the founding members of Autonomous Networks during the launch of the Autonomous Networks (AN) Manifesto in Copenhagen, Denmark, on September 18, 2023, alongside 12 leading global Communication Service Providers (CSPs) and 18 global technology partners. This achievement once again highlights Telkomsel’s commitment to continuously innovate and remain relevant through the adoption of the latest technologies. This commitment is demonstrated by Telkomsel’s role as a pioneer in developing and standardizing the implementation of Autonomous Networks technology, which coincided with the Digital Transformation World 2023 event organized by TM Forum.
Autonomous Networks is a new technology and a key trend in today’s communications industry that is driving the transformation of communication networks into production grade networks for various industries. This transformation requires intelligent and advanced network automation capabilities to deliver faster and better digital experiences, as well as improved operational efficiency. To accelerate the widespread adoption of Autonomous Networks, Telkomsel, together with 30 leading global companies, declared the Autonomous Networks Manifesto, which establishes standards and best practices to support the adoption of self managing networks. This initiative aligns with TM Forum’s Open Digital Architecture (ODA) to drive the growth of the telecommunications and digital industries.
Telkomsel’s Director of Network, Nugroho, stated:
“Driven by the spirit of creating breakthroughs, Telkomsel, as Indonesia’s leading digital telco company, continues to consistently innovate through the adoption of ever evolving technologies to support digital transformation across industries. This spirit is reflected in Telkomsel’s participation as the only telecommunications company from Indonesia, alongside AIS Thailand, as the two operators representing Southeast Asia in pioneering the implementation of Autonomous Networks technology. This initiative also marks our commitment to delivering better digital experiences for customers, while driving cross industry digital transformation, which plays a crucial role in helping businesses become more productive, efficient, and secure.”
The founding members of the Autonomous Networks Manifesto consist of 30 leading global companies, including Accenture, AIS, Amdocs, China Mobile, China Telecom, Chunghwa Telecom, Ericsson, Futurewei, Huawei, IBM, Inspur, Intraway, Iquall Networks, Makman Technology Consulting, Microsoft, MTN Group, Netcracker, Nokia, NTT, Orange, SAS, Telecom Argentina, Telefonica, Telenor, Telkomsel, TTG International, UBiqube, Verizon, Wipro, and Zain.
The implementation of Autonomous Networks technology enables the optimization of 5G Advanced networks, the use of computing networks as enterprise cloud access, and the development of environmentally friendly, low carbon networks that reduce energy consumption and emissions. It also ensures reliable network speed and stability through AI based self centers capable of independently configuring, repairing, and optimizing network operations, ultimately driving cost savings and improving operational efficiency.
“Through the initiation of the Autonomous Networks Manifesto, Telkomsel actively strengthens collaboration to enhance corporate capabilities and drive sustainable digital transformation, while accelerating the widespread adoption of Autonomous Networks to usher in a new era of growth and digital transformation across industries. Going forward, Telkomsel is committed to consistently opening broader collaboration opportunities to accelerate the advancement of Indonesia’s digital ecosystem roadmap, which is expected to strengthen the achievement of Industry 4.0 in a more inclusive and sustainable manner,” Nugroho concluded.
