Semarang, 18 August 2017 – Following the introduction of a variety of retail payment services, bank connectivity (TCASH Ekstra) and overseas remittance services, Telkomsel expanded the scope of TCASH digital financial services by conducting trial of TCASH Pass service at Rapid Bus Transit (RBT) Semarang in cooperation with Semarang City Government.
Telkomsel developed the TCASH Pass feature to answer the needs of digitizing payments in the rapid and recurrent transportation sector. Implementation of this technology allows transactions in payment terminals easily and quickly without PIN authorization.
RBT Semarang ticket payment cooperation using TCASH Pass service is marked by the signing of a memorandum of understanding by Telkomsel Vice President of Sales & Marketing for Java Bali Area Ericson Sibagariang and Semarang Mayor Hendrar Prihadi in the launching event of TCASH – RBT Semarang in Semarang City Hall.
Telkomsel Sales Director Sukardi Silalahi, who attended the MoU signing, said, "The pass feature in our TCASH service brings in an effort to accelerate the development of the SmartCity concept as well as to support the National Non-Cash Movement initiated by government through the digitization of transportation service payments."
Mayor of Semarang said that this cooperation is important for the RBT Semarang service development, especially considering Telkomsel is now the biggest cellular operator with the most customers in Indonesia. "We hope that the synergy between Semarang City Government and Telkomsel through TCASH service is able to increase the speed of Trans Semarang service. In addition, I am sure most users of Trans Semarang will be very welcome this innovation, because as the mobile operator with the most customers in Indonesia, the majority of Trans Semarang users who are Telkomsel subscribers will be greatly facilitated from this system, "said Hendrar Prihadi.
To facilitate this service, Telkomsel's active customers using TCASH services can easily activate the TCASH Pass feature on TCASH's near-field communication (NFC) sticker available at the transportation service center, especially at the RBT Semarang City Hall and GraPARI Semarang bus stops. Upon activation of TCASH TAP service and Pass feature, customers can allocate balance for TCASH Pass service.
TCASH transactions within Semarang RBT can be directly done on the bus by taping or sticking sticker NFC TCASH to Semarang BRT payment terminal brought by officer. Subscribers are charged at the prevailing rate, which is Rp 3,500 for public and Rp 1,000 for students. To support ease of access to TCASH services, Telkomsel also provides TCASH activation special access for Semarang City through access menu * 800 * 024 #.
Meanwhile, Telkomsel Senior Vice President of Mobile Financial Services Danu Wicaksana said, "The cooperation of TCASH Pass with Semarang Trans Bus is our first step to enter the public transportation sector, which we developed to answer the needs of customers who want to use TCASH as a payment tool in their daily lives.We also hope TCASH Pass can provide an ease for the routine activities of Semarang people in becoming a digital society in the midst of this rapidly growing technology.”
In the launching of TCASH and Semarang RBT services, TCASH Pass will be able to experience TCASH Pass service on Semarang RBT. The community can also experience the experience of using TCASH service to enjoy various culinary delights. Still in the series of RI 72nd anniversary celebrations, the whole menu of food and drinks at the launch event is marketed with a special price of Rp 72.
Cooperation between Telkomsel and Semarang City Government in the future will be developed through the implementation of non-cash payment in various other public facilities, such as garbage retribution, government administration fees, and so on.
