DIRECTOR OF MARKETING
Lionel Chng has served as Director of Marketing of Telkomsel effective January 2026. With more than three decades of professional experience, he is a seasoned leader with a strong track record in marketing, sales, business transformation, and regional leadership across industries, particularly in telecommunications, technology, and consumer business.
Prior to his appointment as Director of Marketing of Telkomsel, Lionel held various strategic positions within the Singtel Group, most recently as Managing Director Customer Success at Singtel. In this role, he led the Consumer and SME business portfolios end-to-end, overseeing revenue performance and customer experience through the strengthening of both physical and digital channels. His leadership played a key role in driving digital transformation and the adoption of AI across customer touchpoints, reinforcing brand strength, improving sales conversion, and delivering sustainable growth alongside high customer satisfaction levels.
Previously, Lionel built extensive regional leadership experience at HP Inc., where he held several strategic roles at both national and Asia-Pacific levels. He served as Managing Director of HP Singapore, leading a multi-hundred-million-dollar business, and also took on regional roles as Consumer Sales Director for Asia-Pacific & Japan and Chief of Staff to the Managing Director for Greater Asia. Across these positions, he led mid-term strategic planning, organizational transformation, go-to-market strategy development, and business growth acceleration across key Asian markets, including Indonesia.
In addition, Lionel has held senior leadership roles at leading multinational companies such as Samsung, Nokia, Maxis, and Procter & Gamble, focusing on marketing and sales strategy development, channel and retail transformation, and organizational capability building across Southeast Asia. He holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Bath and a Bachelor of Marketing & Management (Honors) from the University of Wisconsin–Madison, providing a strong global and strategic foundation for his leadership.
