Telkomsel shows its commitment to prioritize its network technology capabilities and digital asset ecosystem for Indonesia's progress through a showcase of 5G Smart Mining implementation scenarios (use-cases) with TelkomGroup in the State-Owned Enterprise (SOE) International Conference & Expo agenda: Driving Sustainable & Inclusive Growth, which will take place on 17-18 October 2022 in Nusa Dua, Bali.

As part of a series of activities for the Trade, Investment & Industry Working Group (TIIWG) Road to G20, the showcase of the use of Telkomsel's 5G technology with TelkomGroup on the SOE International Conference & Expo agenda raised the potential for transformation of the industrial ecosystem and future digital capabilities through strategic collaboration across SOEs in the global recovery. The event was also attended by the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment of the Republic of Indonesia, the Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) of the Republic of Indonesia, and several delegates from representatives of G20 member countries.

The 5G technology utilization presented by Telkomsel and the TelkomGroup is part of the SOE International Conference & Expo exhibition, which showcases the performance, initiatives, and programs of SOEs on the three priorities of Indonesia's G20 presidency, namely health service architecture, energy transition, and economic inclusion through digitalization. Telkomsel presents several scenarios for implementing 5G technology, such as 5G Smart Mining (5G in The Box, 5G Connected Worker, 5G Computer Vision) and 5G Artificial Intelligence (AI) Robot. Through the showcase of the 5G technology implementation scenario, Telkomsel raised the potential for transformation of the industrial ecosystem and the digital capabilities of the SOE ecosystem in the recovery of the global economy, opening up opportunities for cross-sectoral collaboration and increasing the attractiveness of strategic investment for Indonesia.

For the primary use case, Telkomsel carries several technologies in the 5G Smart Mining scenario, namely 5G in The Box, 5G Connected Worker, and 5G Computer Vision. 5G In The Box technology is a portable 5G network technology innovation that comes in a compact form. This simplicity supports a 5G deployment process that is faster and easier to implement, especially in the trial process of private 5G networks for corporate customers. Telkomsel also presents 5G Connected Worker wearable technology that can support the coordination and management of employee safety and operational security in the work environment. Telkomsel also demonstrated the sophistication of 5G Computer Vision with AI that enables various uses in the field, ranging from goods detection, access monitor, to load scanning.

The 5G Smart Mining technology opens great opportunities for digital transformation. It should increase industrial productivity and operational efficiency, such as its implementation with PT Freeport Indonesia and MIND ID through the first 5G Underground Smart Mining in Indonesia in September 2022.

In addition to 5G Smart Mining, Telkomsel presents the use-case of the 5G AI Robot, a robot with human-like capabilities. This AI-enabled robot can welcome and recognize guests in attendance and provide entertainment attractions, demonstrating its potential usage for services in various industries, ranging from media, entertainment, to retail. To support the G20 Presidency program in Bali, Telkomsel has also optimized and expanded the 5G network coverage by deploying additional infrastructure in the form of 39 5G BTS that reach many activity points.

SOE International Conference: Driving Sustainable & Inclusive Growth itself is held offline and online in the form of panel discussions, exhibitions, investor talks, corporate days, and business matching. In addition to inviting speakers from Indonesia and world figures from various fields, the SOE International Conference also invited SOE leaders, SOE stakeholders, delegates from G20 member countries, investors, representatives of friendly nations and international organizations, business partners, academics, think tanks, as well as domestic and foreign media.
